@lostlittlesatellites “She looks like she’s on a redemption arc now but when nothing hoes in her favour how will she respond?” Ok, well, assuming that the show and the book are merging toward the same ending, let’s look at the possibilities. The problems are: 1) The wall has fallen, thanks to Viserion. 2) She doesn’t... Continue Reading →
“It Doesn’t Mean Anything Because…”
thelawyerthatwaspromised: iheartdandelions: thelawyerthatwaspromised: According to Dany’s biggest supporters: It doesn’t mean anything that she crucified people arbitrarily. It doesn’t mean anything that Drogon killed a little girl. It doesn’t mean anything that her torching the Dosh Khaleen temple mirrored Cersei blowing up the sept. It doesn’t mean anything that she executed a son and father... Continue Reading →
To go forward you must look back: Dany’s tragic fall
lostlittlesatellites: I’ve been going through Dænerys’ ADWD chapters and something that struck out to me is how there are echoes of her ancestors’ reigns in her campaign at Slaver’s Bay. It starts off as a campaign for justice, but soon turns awry and reveals how unfit she is to rule because up until now she... Continue Reading →
Hi!! I was wondering… many people believe that Dany’s story arc will eventually be a tragic one. Personally, after finishing season 7, I was left with the impression that Jon Snow was going to be her “redemption” in some ways, saving her from that tragic arc some argue she’s been digging herself in. But then those people would call that a cliche trope, unfit with Martin’s style… what would be your thoughts on this? (I’m asking because I really, really don’t want Dany to end tragically :(
instantbouquetface-me: Hi! From what I have seen, the notion that Dany’s arc will eventually be a tragic one is certianly possible (since this is ASOIAF and we don’t know the future as yet). Just the same, Jon’s arc can be tragic too (I think if one of them is dying, Jon is far more likely).... Continue Reading →
Game of thrones Food for thoughts 2
I love how Dany’s dragons, and Dany’s relationship with them mirror the kind of ruler she is, and the kind of person/ruler she could become. In an earlier post I had suggested that the dragons could be a metaphor for the common people: they hold the power, Dany’s merely the one managing it. That would... Continue Reading →
Jon is in love with Daenerys. Was developped in five chapters. Jon can´t fall in love with Sansa in season 8 because they don´t have time for it in six episodes, despite what hapened between them in season 6&7. Logicall.
thelawyerthatwaspromised: tatticstudio55: thelawyerthatwaspromised: tatticstudio55: thelawyerthatwaspromised: tatticstudio55: thelawyerthatwaspromised: tatticstudio55: thelawyerthatwaspromised: Actually it was only developed in one episode as Jon refers to himself as a stranger to her right before he leaves Dragonstone. But their love is so strong because that’s all the time they needed to fall in love (Jon seeing Dany on Drogon created... Continue Reading →
Daenerys might know more about “breaking the wheel” than we give her credit for
From 7x07: “this place was the beginning of the end for my family. Zaldrīzes buzdari iksos daor. A dragon is not a slave. They were terrifying. Extraordinary. They filled people with wonder and awe and we locked them in here. They’re wasted away. They grew small. And we grew small as well. We weren’t extraordinary... Continue Reading →
Daenerys, Sansa and morals
The point of this post isn’t to get into a Jonerys vs Jonsa debate, but rather to compare the moral justifications behind two types of executions carried out by these women 1) Daenerys take meereen, crucify 163 slavers 2) Sansa feed Ramsay to his dogs In both cases, it’s an “eye for eye” revenge. The masters... Continue Reading →
Are We All Missing The Point Of Dany’s Three Betrayals Prophecy?
thelawyerthatwaspromised: tatticstudio55: thelawyerthatwaspromised: trinuviel: springwolvesofwinterfell: thelawyerthatwaspromised: “Who will betray Dany in Season 8?” (be prepared for a long one) I’ve seen this headline over….and over…and over…and over again. It’s irritating because it makes it seem as if Dany is a babe-in-the-woods even though she herself inquired with Tyrion about whether he was planning on using... Continue Reading →
