To those who still harp about THAT scene (see below)

Saying that it’s racist and perpetuate outdated prejudices and ideologies, i.e. the “white savior” trope? Well, how about THAT one:The good-looking hero/the ugly villain trope(That’s the hero, btw. Oh, and the WW in the book? They’re supposed to be beautiful, but they’re just… not)This perpetuates the very outdated prejudice that beautiful people are good, and people... Continue Reading →

I mean look, I get why ppl r upset that Dany burnt the Tarlys. She seemingly had no emotion on her fact and tbh I’m no fan of randyll and Dickon Tarly. TBH idk if those r even their names. But I think the moment that did it for me was when they reached over to hold hands right before they were burned. Idk but d&d really wanted to make Dany look like a villain in that scene regardless of the fact that they were at war and the tarlys were the ones that betrayed the tyrells.

askiheartdandelions: D&D explain the scene in the commentary. The SPECIFICALLY mention that Dany is not mad and that she’s not like her father because what she is doing is rational. Whenever describing Daenerys or the Targaryens, they always use the word “ruthless” but that doesn’t equal mad and that doesn’t equal villain. And again, I... Continue Reading →

I literally saw a j0nerys post claiming that Ghost would love D@ny just like Drogon accepted Jon and we’d all be so pissed about it and theirs is the ship of parallels. Where do they come up with this stuff and how are we delulu again?? Jon is half Targ! That’s why Drogon accepted him but sure…Someone without a drop of Stark blood and a potential threat will be welcomed by Ghost…

love-deejay: scullylikesscience: I have no idea how we’re considered the delusional ones. Well, I mean, I have an idea. At the root of most anti-Jonsa sentiment is anti-Sansa sentiment, which has been pervasive in this fandom since before the show was even a thing. Most people don’t want to accept Sansa as an important character... Continue Reading →

When sex makes you a villain

secretlyatargaryen: tatticstudio55: I’ve noticed some odd patterns from certain parts of this fandom when it comes to Daenerys Targaryen. She’s villainized in a very sexual way. This doesn’t concern the story itself, but rather the reception of the character (as far as I can tell from what I’ve read on several tumblr blogs, many of... Continue Reading →

What do you think about Dany’s anti-slavery policy, priding herself on being a liberator, while also proudly waving the Blood of Old Valyria flag, worshipping her Valyrian roots and bonding with Dothraki? Dothraki have enslaved many in their path and Valyrians were big-time slavers themselves, having enslaved Ghiscari and then expanded their empire to Essos, stocking their mines with slaves along the way (as per TWOIAF).

oadara: Hello anon, While your question was clearly meant as hate-snark, I’m going to answer anyway. These mischaracterization have been making the rounds of late and I would like to address these claims and clarify what the text actually says. Like those who are descendants of the First Men and the Andals, Daenerys is descendant... Continue Reading →

1/2: “Ugh she’s so annoying, the only people who like her are horny dudebros or sjws who ignore every other female character in the show”. Saw this on a post from someone decrying Dany’s behaviour in 7.03 (and they’re allowed to hate her, each to their own), but this comment from another blogger has me perplexed.

askiheartdandelions: 2/2 It’s wrong on a number of levels. For a start, I like her, but Arya is my main fave after Jon, and I like Cersei and Brienne too. And the fact that they use “sjw” as a pejorative is weird. Is that referring to the fact that we push back at the stupid... Continue Reading →
